Community Heritage Program Strategy

Delivering Community Heritage Programs

The National Trust provides a number of statewide programs which support and encourage community involvement in the preservation and enjoyment of Tasmania’s cultural heritage. These programs include:-

  • Heritage Conservation Appeals Program – through the management of the tax deductible gift program for heritage conservation
  • Heritage Auspice Program –through sponsorship of non-incorporated body heritage projects
  • Local Heritage Support Program – through the provision of:-

    Professional advice,
    Property to house local heritage initiatives such as Mt Lyell Mine Managers Office, Mariners Cottage and Oak Lodge

  • Heritage Co-operative Promotional Program – through the development of joint marketing initiatives involving community managed heritage sites and collections
  • Tasmanian Heritage Festival which promotes Tasmanian heritage organisations, their programs and their importance to the state.

Heritage Services Directory Announced

Heritage Tasmania announces the availability of The Tasmanian Heritage Services Directory. This directory has been developed to assist property owners, government, community groups and others seeking heritage advice and specialist skills. It provides contact details for professionals, consultants, contractors and specialist trades people across a range of categories including engineers, architects, heritage consultants, landscape architects, planners and specialists in cultural heritage tourism and interpretation.
