National Trust Income Support Scheme

The National Trust of Australia (Tasmania) and Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees have developed a partnership to establish an Investment Fund known as the National Trust Income Support Scheme.

To secure mutual benefits to both parties National Trust supporters are encouraged to make investments in the National Trust Income Support Scheme.

The monies invested will always remain the property of the investor and repayments can be requested at any time. However the quarterly interest distributions will be paid directly to a National Trust cash management account with Bendigo Bank.

The quarterly interest needs to be declared as income of the investor but this will be offset by a tax deductible receipt from the National Trust.

The National Trust will use the income in the following order of priority –

Firstly to offset interest on debt
Secondly to reduce debt
Finally to either meet operational expenses
or to contribute to retained surpluses.

In addition Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees will support the Tasmanian Heritage Icons Project with a Sponsorship based on the total value of deposits in the National Trust Income Support Scheme.
