| Heritage Significance: |
Built in 1859 the Church is considered to be of very high historic significance derived primarily from its association with its designer, Henry Hunter, one of Tasmania’s most important nineteenth century architects and its links with the English colossus of architecture Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin who greatly influenced and tutored Hunter in the Gothic Revival Style.
Also of high heritage significance are the stained glass windows, the baptismal font, the Nativity Scene in the chapel and the arts and crafts vestries. |
